Our Team

Simon Chislett

Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Hons)

Simon is the founding partner and Principal Environmental Engineer of Environmental
Management and Consulting (em&c). Simon holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering
(Hons) and has specialised in the field of contaminated land assessment and management for
over 25 years. He has worked in all states of Australia and in New Zealand on the planning
and delivery of contaminated land assessment and remediation projects across a broad range
of Industry Sectors; Petroleum, Commercial Property (Acquisition, Divestment and
Development), Defence, Infrastructure and Local Government.

Alongside his technical knowledge, Simon brings a unique client focused approach to site
assessment, seamlessly meshing the needs of the client with regulatory requirements to
deliver projects on time, on budget and to a high quality.

As an EIANZ Certified Environmental Practitioner, Site Contamination Specialist (CEnvP SC).
Simon is recognised by his peers as a professional who is capable across several disciplines,
being able to deliver assessments for a varied portfolio of clients such as landowners,
occupiers, regulators, local government, planning authorities and infrastructure owners.

When he’s not in the office, Simon is found in his kitchen; travelling the world by cuisine and
chilli type. Creating sensational cocktails for his business partner and mocktails for their kids.
Simon also likes to disappear on his bike when he can.

Rhonda Quine

Bachelor of Commerce

Rhonda is the founding partner and Codirector of Environmental Management and
Consulting (em&c), she holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a focus on human resources and
business management. Rhonda has worked in management of small & large national
business and local government for over 25 years; in Melbourne, Perth, Hobart and greater
Queensland.

Rhonda’s wears many hard hats in the em&c office, covering contract management, business
logistics, general HR, finance, and day to day operations. Having a passion for small business
and team member development, Rhonda’s focus on quality and incremental improvement
has ensured em&c stays at the forefront of the industry.

Outside of em&c, Rhonda has returned to Uni to study urban & built environment design. For
pure pleasure, Rhonda can be found enjoying live music, hiking in the remote Tasmanian
wilderness or on a board in the Queensland surf.

Malin Flukes

Masters of Environmental Engineering and Water Resource Management

Malin has over 11 years’ experience as an environmental consultant in the contaminated
land sector in Australia and holds a Master of Environmental Engineering and Water
Resource Management from Lund University in Sweden.

Joining em&c in 2012, Malin has worked with em&c on the planning and delivery of
contaminated land projects across Tasmania and Victoria, focussing on data quality
management and technical reporting. Malin has worked with many sectors of industry
including construction, government & infrastructure, and the oil & gas sector.

An experienced practitioner, Malin heads up our Tasmanian team and is recognised by industry
and team peers as an astute and efficient project manager with a keen eye for quality
processes and data integrity at every stage of a project delivery. Malin’s ability to be over all
aspects of em&c projects provides is invaluable for both clients and em&c alike.

In her free time, Malin is a keen runner and keeps busy training and competing in long-distance
cross-country events. When she stops you can find Malin with a paint brush or
camera in hand or climbing a remote rock wall.

Luisa Romero Patino

Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, Dip Conservation and Land Management

Luisa is a professional Environmental Engineer, bringing more than 4 years of experience in
environmental monitoring, both in Australian and internationally. Luisa has worked as a field
Engineer across a range of industrial sectors (mining, oil and gas, hydroelectric, wastewater
and water treatment). With a particular interest in land conservation, Luisa has recently
pursued this field further, with a Diploma in Conservation and Land Management.

Luisa’s role with em&c allows her to focus on contaminated land projects across wider
Tasmania, focussing on environmental monitoring, delivery of environmental investigation
programs, quality management and technical reporting. Being a “no fuss” professional who
just gets the job done, efficiently and thoroughly, Luisa is our can-do team member.
When Luisa’s not pursuing her career, she loves to just chill by socialising with friends, getting
creative with non-traditional crafts and pursuing outdoor activities that keep her connected
with nature.
